What it involves
Vaginoplasty is the genital feminization surgery that creates a complete vulva — labia majora and minora, clitoris and urinary meatus — and, if you wish, a vaginal canal deep enough for penetrative sex. The clitoris is built from the glans, preserving its nerve supply to maintain sensation and orgasmic capacity.

How is a vaginoplasty performed?
The reference technique is penile inversion: the skin of the penis and scrotum is used to line the vaginal canal and build the labia. When available skin is insufficient it can be complemented with skin grafts or, in selected cases, peritoneal lining techniques.
